Neil Colbert joined the Southern Properties team in 2019 as a full-time REALTOR© and brings with him over 20 years of real estate sales experience.  He began his real estate career with another Fort Payne company where he built a solid foundation of close relationships with his loyal client base.  Neil offers a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our office.

An Alabama native, Neil grew up in Gaylesville in Cherokee County and graduated from Gaylesville School.  He attended Jacksonville State University and graduated from Northeast Alabama Community College.  He and his wife Deb proudly call Fort Payne home. Dubbed the “Alabama Land Pro”, Neil has a vast knowledge and interest in regional land sales.  His deep roots and connections within our community make Neil a natural choice among local residents. 

Neil is an Associate Broker at Southern Properties.  Through his hard work and success in real estate, Neil has earned the distinguished designation of Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) and is a proud member of the Realtors Land Institute (RLI). In 2021 Neil was approved by the Realtors Land Institute National Board of Directors for the esteemed Accredited Land Consultant (ALC) Designation!

An Accredited Land Consultant (ALC) is certified by the Realtors Land Institute, an affiliate of the National Association of REALTORS®, as part of an elite group of the most accomplished, most experienced, and highest performing land real estate experts across the country. This depth of knowledge translates into the highest level of service to clients, ensuring they receive the best services in the business when buying, selling, managing, or investing in a property.  The ALC Designation is a sign of integrity, expertise, and experience as a land real estate professional.

Neil and Deb are proud grandparents to their two young granddaughters.  An avid outdoorsman, Neil enjoys spending time outdoors hunting, fishing, golfing and gardening.  As much success as Neil has had in the real estate field, the accomplishment that makes him most proud is his family.

Neil is always willing to go the extra mile for his clients.  He is available to meet during regular office hours, as well as nights and weekends.
